Singapore Voter Rolls Updated Ahead of GE2025: Public Inspection Open from Feb 15 to 28

As Singapore prepares for its highly anticipated General Election (GE2025), the Elections Department (ELD) has announced that the revised Registers of Electors will be available for public inspection from February 15 to 28, 2025. The update ensures that all eligible citizens are accurately recorded in the electoral roll, allowing them to participate in the upcoming elections.

How to Check Your Voter Details

Singaporeans can verify their voting eligibility and personal details via multiple platforms:

  • Online: Visit the Elections Department website or check the “My Profile” section on the Singpass app.
  • In Person: Community Centres/Clubs, ServiceSG Centres, or by making an appointment at the ELD office.
  • For Overseas Singaporeans: Visit Singapore’s overseas missions serving as registration centres.

Updating Voter Information & Filing Objections

During the inspection period (Feb 15-28, 2025), individuals may:

  1. Submit a claim to include their name if it was omitted or to update personal details that differ from their NRIC records.
  2. Submit an objection to remove a name from the electoral roll for their respective division.

Claims and objections can be filed via Voter Services on the ELD website, at Community Centres, ServiceSG Centres, the ELD office, or designated overseas registration centres.

Inspection of Claims List & Reinstating Voter Status

A list of submitted claims will be available for public inspection from March 12 to 19, 2025 at:

  • Community Centres/Clubs
  • ServiceSG Centres
  • ELD office
  • Overseas registration centres

Additionally, Singaporeans who were previously removed from the voter roll for not voting in past elections can apply for reinstatement through the Voter Services portal.

Important: Restoration applications cannot be processed once the Writ of Election is issued until after Nomination Day (if uncontested) or Polling Day (if contested).

Singapore’s General Election Timeline & Expectations

To be eligible to vote, a person must:

  • Be a Singapore Citizen
  • Be 21 years old and above as of February 1, 2025
  • Not be disqualified under any existing laws
  • Have a registered Singapore residential address or a Local Contact Address with the ICA

Singapore’s 14th General Election must be held before November 2025, as Parliament is set to dissolve by August 23, 2025. However, political analysts speculate that the election could take place as early as May 2025, following a timeline similar to GE2011.

Electoral Boundaries Review: A Step Closer to Elections

A significant milestone in the election preparation is the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee (EBRC), convened in January 2025 by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. The committee will assess electoral constituency changes based on population shifts and new housing developments to ensure fair representation.

Historically, elections are held within four to eleven months after the EBRC’s formation, with recent elections averaging a seven-month timeline.

Key Takeaways for Singaporean Voters

  • Check your voter details between Feb 15-28, 2025 to ensure eligibility.
  • Submit updates or objections if there are discrepancies in your voter records.
  • Restore your voting rights early if you missed past elections.
  • Stay informed about electoral boundary changes and the upcoming GE2025 schedule.

With GE2025 on the horizon, Singaporeans are encouraged to verify their voter registration early to exercise their democratic rights in the nation’s fourth-generation leadership election.
