Singapore Invites Citizens to Shape Budget 2025: Share Your Views!

The Ministry of Finance (MOF) has called on Singaporeans to provide their input for Budget 2025, opening the feedback window from Dec 2, 2024, to Jan 12, 2025. This initiative is part of the government’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and collaboration as Singapore celebrates its 60th year of independence (SG60).

Four Key Themes for Feedback

    Reflecting on Singapore’s shared values and aspirations, this theme focuses on unity, inclusivity, and improving the living environment. Key questions include:

    • How can we cultivate a stronger collective identity?
    • What can be done to enhance our living spaces for harmonious living, working, and recreation?
    • How can we encourage a caring and generous society?
  2. Developing a Vibrant Business Ecosystem
    With an emphasis on growth and innovation, suggestions are sought to:

    • Foster business creation and innovation.
    • Empower businesses in areas like digitalisation, workforce training, and market access.
    • Address immediate concerns businesses face as they plan for the future.
  3. Opportunities for Skills Upgrading and Jobs
    Amidst global uncertainty and technological disruption, this theme aims to:

    • Promote lifelong learning among Singaporeans.
    • Equip students and workers with future-ready skills.
    • Support vulnerable workforce segments to share in economic growth.
  4. Supporting Singaporeans Across Life Stages
    This theme ensures support for families, seniors, caregivers, and individuals with disabilities. Suggestions include:

    • Building a family-friendly Singapore.
    • Empowering seniors to live well in their homes and communities.
    • Enhancing caregiver support and inclusion for people with disabilities.
